Transforming Mechatronics − A Scorecard for Driving Collaborative Efforts Across Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Development Teams (EX)
3/12/2009
Mechatronics defines the future of engineered consumer and industrial products. Any solution to managing the mechatronics development process must solve the problems of multiple product representations, the coordination of design dependencies, and configuration and change management. Different approaches are observed in practice, all targeting the same ultimate goal − to increase the speed of development while boosting the quality and the innovation of the systems delivered. The ten capabilities assessed in this report represent key requirements that PLM solution architects must address in order to support the mechatronics development process.
